Musings on Ice Cream

I have heard that people in New England are much more into the whole ice cream thing than in other parts of the country -- especially the warm parts. I guess that's because we can't get it all year. Anyway, if that's true, then I have learned three things from growing up in New England:
1.) The only type of maple syrup is the stuff that comes out of a tree. Anything else is fake and not worth consuming. (Don't ask me what this has to do with ice cream.)
2.) It is never too cold or rainy or early in the year for ice cream. While I ate my ice cream today, not one, not two, but three other people came and ate ice cream. All separately, too, not like one carload.
3.) Unless you are planning to eat ice cream for a meal, never order more than a kiddie size at a good, homemade ice cream stand. Maybe a small if you're really hungry. But never a large.
