Color Swap Reveal (a.k.a. All Things Yellow!)

So, you may have noticed a few things have changed around here recently.  Nothing big, don't worry.
(1) Pictures of me!  I'm no longer the mysterious person behind the camera!

(2) A new camera (and hopefully improving picture quality)!

(3) Two posts in one week!  Amazing!  It's been a while since that happened!

(4) This new button over here (which NES showed me how to put in!) -->

The Peony Project was founded by BG, one of my college acquaintances, who blogs over at Heavens to Betsy.  I've been kinda following her blog since college.  I suggest you go check out her blog!  She also took some pretty awesome pictures of a few of us from my apartment senior year of college.
Through the Peony Project, I've discovered there's this whole world of blogging opportunities out there!  And though I'm not ready to jump in with both feet (grad school and my dwindling supply of free time make that hard), but I'm dabbling.

One of my first dabbles was with Melissa's Color Swap!  (Melissa is a fellow Peony!)  Who knew that bloggers set up opportunities like this to get to know other bloggers!

I was paired up with Meagan from All the Joys!   Her favorite color is purple, and I had such a good time looking for purple things for her, reading her blog and stalking her instagram to figure out what to get!

My favorite color is yellow (in case you couldn't tell . . . ), and Meagan found such fun things!

First of all, the package came on a Monday, and when I got home after my 14 hour day, it put a HUGE smile on my face.  I peeked at it before I fell into bed!

So here's what she sent:

Yellow nail polish.  Totally my favorite (much to the chagrin of both my grandmothers who think it's an entirely unnatural color for finger/toenails)!  I wear it year round!

A yellow oven mitt.  The funny story about oven mitts is that we still have the ones we got from our wedding, and after 2 1/2 years and innumerable baking projects, they aren't so heat resistant anymore!  So the replacement is definitely appreciated!

Lemon gum.  Totally yellow.  Perfect for freshening up before meetings . . .

Thank you cards.  Well timed for the beginning of the holiday-into-birthday season!  I'll be using these soon!  And they are really cute ones!

Washi tape.  I have started a small collection of Washi tape for no other reason than I love it and tend to hoard craft supplies in case inspiration strikes.  This one is so pretty!

Polka-dotted pail.  I was slightly tempted to tell Meagan my favorite color was polka dots.  If I didn't love yellow so much, I might have!  I am not sure what this will be for yet.  I've kind of had succulents on the brain since the beginning of the semester, since I want to start a succulent garden.  Maybe this will be purposed for that, or maybe it'll end up on my desk at school for pencils and pens!

Regardless, go check out Meagan's blog, and if you are a blogger, check out all the cool opportunities out there!  I wish I had done this earlier!

Thanks, Meagan!

  1. So cute!! It's been fun to participate in this swap and see what everyone else got. I too hoard craft supplies (and office supplies) like nobody's business "just in case" I need to craft something. The yellow washi is so cute!

    1. Stephanie, I'm so glad I'm not the only one! What do you use washi tape for??? I've used it a little for scrapbooking and making little flags, but my collection is itching to be used more!
